I will always be rooting for Brooke and Lucas. During the first season, I found Brooke annoying as she was in the way of two  tortured souls. She was slutty, loud, and was unfit for Lucas. I was pissed when they got together and it pained me to watch Peyton’s reaction when Brooke emerges right after she says that she wants to be with Lucas. As much as I wanted it to be Lucas and Peyton, as the show developed I can’t help but love Brooke. I remember being twelve or thirteen and I cried with her when she found out Lucas cheated on her with her own best friend. 

Season two came, Peyton was being paired with Jake. I have to say that it was a good pairing as well. Jake and Peyton should have been the endgame just like Nathan and Haley. Lucas got sidetracked with Ana, a latina and a lesbian and Brooke got herself an asshole named Felix. Brooke was still hurting over Lucas but she showed strength. She even managed to tell Lucas that it’s okay if he likes Peyton even though she knows it might kill her. That’s why it was hard for her when Lucas told her that he wants to be with her at the end of the second season. 

After a summer in California, Brooke comes back with a proposition of not dating exclusively. She loves Lucas but she doesn’t want to give her heart away that easily. It was a disaster. She ended up sleeping with Chris Keller and Lucas just scored front row seats to the two of them in bed. Now this will have to be my favorite scene ever. Brooke knocks on Lucas’ door and professes her love for him and leaves knowing she ruined what could have been the most amazing love story. Lucas comes right after her and tells her that he forgives her and this time he’s going to make it right and Brooke cuts him off by saying I love you. There’s so much grace coming from Lucas. The scene gets to me every time I watch it. It’s two people who have immense love for each other. The scene was shot on a house and a street that I don’t even know. It’s their love that gets across. For him to forgive her and for her to let go of her fear that what happened with Peyton might happen again. 

I feel cheated that they didn’t end up together. Lucas made the damn shot. Rachel challenged Lucas to make the shot while he is blindfolded. If he made the shot, Brooke is the one. He did. And who can forget when he told her that night at the bonfire that he’s the guy for her? If only Chad didn’t cheat on Sophia, we’d all have Brucas. That was what the creator wanted to happen. But of course, Sophia was dealing with a broken heart and she asked not to be paired with Chad anymore. That makes me mad because I love Brucas the way I love Chair. In the perfect world, it was Brooke and Lucas who made it down the aisle. In the perfect world, Naley, Jeyton, and Brucas are rocking Tree Hill.
